I AM MUSIC Summer Camp was designed for kids ages 7- 15 who love music. Through hands-on activities, kids will explore multiple genres of music and use the knowledge they acquire to create their own instruments and theme music. This camp is designed for students to learn healthy ways to deal with their emotions using music as an outlet.



Music Production

Our Music Production class will teach students about the world of digital music-making. Students will learn how to use Ableton to create beats, mix music, and explore a variety of sounds.

Small Group Ensemble

Small group ensembles consist of students learning how to play instruments with others in their group. They will be led by professional musicians and get to try a variety of instrumentation. No prior experience is needed.

Instrument Creation

In Instrument Creation, students will get an opportunity to create their very own instrument and customize it to fit their personality/sound. 

Music Composition

Our Music Composition class will teach students the fundamentals of producing and writing their own songs. Campers will utilize the skills learned to create their own music and theme song 



What will a regular day look like for my camper?

  • Our camp days are filled with various hands-on activities based on each camp’s theme. These activities are designed to be fun and exciting while helping campers develop skills and positive habits in scientific and critical thinking.

  • Actual schedules may vary based on weather, preferences of camp groups, and other factors.

  • We design our curricula to include structured activities and unstructured free play, taking advantage of multiple rooms in the space to accommodate different learning styles and energy levels.

What sort of activities will my camper participate in?

  • Our camp days feature a variety of hands-on activities based on its theme. We design activities to be fun and exciting while helping campers to develop skills and positive habits in social and emotional learning through music.

What should my child bring to camp?

  • Please label all items

  • Please send your child with a morning snack, lunch, water bottle and an extra change of clothes.

  • Campers enrolled in our Aftercare program should bring an additional afternoon snack.

  • Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes 

How do I register for these programs?

When can I register for summer camp?

  • May 5th, 9:00am- Registration Opens

  • May 25, 9:00am- Scholarship Applications due

  • June 7, 9:00am- Scholarship Awarded 

Who are your educators?

  • Our Summer Camp staff come from various creative and cultural backgrounds, but all are experienced in working with kids in making music. We select our camp staff based on their educational experience and musical knowledge. Many of our camp educators are professional musicians or teachers.

  • Both educators and assistants undergo training ahead of each summer camp season on basic first aid, positive behavior management techniques, community building, and social-emotional learning.

Will food provided to campers?

  • I AM MUSIC Summer Camp will provide the student with healthy morning and afternoon snacks. However, students will be required to bring their lunch. We will provide the proper refrigeration for their lunch. 

Will there be performances during the camp?

  • I AM MUSIC Summer Camper and will have an opportunity to perform at the end of the camp. The camper's families will be invited to see the things they've accomplished while at camp. 

Where will the camp be located?

  • I AM MUSIC Summer Camper will take place at the Texas School of Music located at 4003 Bellaire Blvd Suite DD, Houston, TX 77025.
