Music Production Teacher - Full Job Description

The mediums that we specialize in are music productions, movement, art, and cooking.  

 

The Kinetic Vibez Music Production program aims to provide students with the focused knowledge and understanding of music production technology and the concepts needed to produce successfully, edit, and mix music. In addition to gaining technical proficiency and creative development, the education provided through this program will help students develop mindfulness, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills that contribute to lifelong learning. Mindfulness plays a vital role in Kinetic Vibez's pedagogical philosophy. Therefore, having experience or an interest in meditation or yoga is highly preferred. This position is part-time, working no more than 20 hours per week at schools or in a public space. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create a learning environment through practical teaching skills, maintain a student-centered focus, and update the curriculum to keep current and relevant to industry standards.

  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and encourage active learning.

  • Create learning activities, including assignments, tests, quizzes, and labs, and assess student outcomes promptly through practical assessment and constructive feedback to students to support the learning process.

  • Perform lectures for classes.

  • Interact positively with diverse student populations; provide all students equal learning opportunities.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the industry, and maintain knowledge and skill relevancy through continuing education as defined in the faculty development plan.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and editing for grammar and punctuation

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to multi-task while working independently and collaboratively with other teachers and Kinetic Vibez staff

  • Ability to interact professionally and constructively with students and staff at all levels in an immersive, fast-paced environment

Education and/or Experience:

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of four (2) years of related and verifiable work experience in Music, Music Production, Recording Arts, Audio Production, Audio Engineering, Music Technology, Music Composition, Music Education, Studio Music, Commercial Music, Media Writing and Production, Music Studio Composition, Musicology, Media Communications.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency using G Suite

  • Expertise in music theory, songwriting and/or composition, and arranging for various ensembles

  • Professional studio experience is strongly preferred

  • Proficiency with music technology software, including Sibelius, Logic Pro, Studio One, Ableton Live, and Pro Tools, is strongly preferred

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:

 

Work is performed in a recording studio, classroom, computer lab, or public facility. While performing this job, the employee must communicate effectively with students, other instructors, and support staff and interact appropriately with computer systems, audio, video, and lighting production equipment as necessary. May be subject to; bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and lifting to thirty (30) pounds.
